Metacritic, also gave the film a score of 96 out of 100 based on 41 critics, indicating “universal acclaim.”

The New York Times gave a positive review of the film and applauded the animation sequences. Mitchell of The New York Times gave a favorable comparison to Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking-Glass, as well as saying that Miyazaki’s movies are about “moodiness as mood” and the characters “heightens the tension.”

Variety said that Spirited Away “can be enjoyed by sprigs and adults alike” and praised the animation and music. In 2004, Cinefantastique listed the film as one of the “10 Essential Animations.”

Libra (September 23-October 22) – Kamaji

He thinks that Yubaba deserves to be rebuked a bit for how harshly she handles her employees and the onesided contracts she enforces upon them. Like a true Libran, he is deeply interested in have meaningful connections with other people, while at the same time seems to enjoys being alone. Lin visits him regularly and he is always with his Soot Sprites.

Scorpio (October 23-November 21) – No Face

A most intriguing and mysterious No Face keeps everyone in Bathhouse on feet. No Face is a complete fireball of silent emotions. Chihiro showed No Face lots of compassion which leads him wanting to return the favor.

But like an obsessed Scorpio, he doesn’t really know when to stop. In his quest to control the situation and be close to Chihiro, he becomes violent and mad. He is even jealous when Chihiro focuses on other people rather than him.

Like all the water signs he imbibes the selfish and greedy vibes of people serving in bathhouse and really becomes like them and even worse.

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21) – Chihiro

Chihiro is all fidgety and sullen at the start, but she goes to look around, While her parents were eating. She wanders around the “abandoned amusement park” just like a Sagittarian would.

Chihiro also pushes her luck around and pushes it to a limit, that is her idea of exploring places. She throws her fear away to push past her comfort zone and reach her intended destinations.

Capricorn (December 22-January 19) – Yubaba

Yubaba’s love profits just like a Capricorn and uses her position, power to threaten and control others, she appears to be someone who knows the cost of everything.

Yet, Yubaba’s has a silver lining, Her entire body language, and voice changes whenever she’s dealing with Boh. Viewers sense that she’s not actually evil. she protects Sen from No-Face momentarily when he is chasing after her stating “not on her premises”.

She is a workaholic and authoritarian like a Capricorns tend to be.

This being said, Yubaba is pretty responsible for her staff and protects them whenever situations become too dangerous.

Aquarius (January 20-February 18) – Soot Sprites

Aquarius-born is typically either shy and quiet or eccentric and emotive the Soot Sprites are both. They seem to be a bit unsure of Chihiro in their workspace. But after a few moments, they completely ignore her and continue to work. The Soot Sprites show a range of emotions like curiosity first, then they soon seem to love her and take care of her shoes when she wasn’t around and love helping her when they can. The basic quality of an Aquariuarn is they like to take care of their community and group and try to create values that help all.

Just like an Aquarius, Soot Sprites are a little eccentric and unique, That makes them stand out from others in a slightly unconventional way.

Pisces (February 19-March 20) – Sen

Chihiro is renamed by Yubaba as Sen, which makes a lot of difference in her character and she changes from a Sagittarius to a Pisces. Both these signs are ruled by Jupiter and both very optimistic and view the future as bright and full of possibility. Sen makes for a perfect Pisces. She makes friends with people and wants to help them as much as possible. She also compassionate and listens to other people’s problems, allowing them to vent to her.

Pisces make for great friends, always willing to lend an ear to listen and always trying to make their friends happy.

Sen is extremely compassionate about everyone she meets, like the River Spirit who was thought for a Stink Spirit. He saw her compassion and kindness and gave her a gift as he was thankful.
