Bastet is the goddess of the home, domesticity, cats, fertility, and childbirth. She protected the home from evil spirits and disease, especially diseases associated with women and children. She had the head of a cat and a slender female body.

It was believed that every day she would ride through the sky with her father, the sun god Ra. As his boat pulled the sun through the sky she would watch over and protect him. At night, she would turn into a cat to protect Ra from his greatest enemy, the serpent Apep.

She is also known as the Goddess of the Moon and was thought to be the eye of the moon and the eye of Ra.

Anubis’ main roles were embalming the body, guiding the soul, and protecting the tomb. According to an Osiris myth, he helped Isis embalm her husband. Due to this story, the priests who worked during the mummification process wore masks with jackal face.

Virgo (August 23 – September 22)

Thoth was born from the lips of Ra at the beginning of creation and was known as the “god without a mother.

God of equilibrium and balance and associated closely with both the principle of ma’at (divine balance) and the goddess Ma’at who personified this principle (and who was sometimes seen as his wife).

He is depicted as a man with the head of an ibis or a seated baboon with or without a lunar disc above his head. He was the patron god of scribes or recordkeeper.
